Heritage Pointe Communities

United Methodist Memorial Home (UMMH), doing business as Heritage Pointe Communities, owns and operates Heritage Pointe of Warren, Heritage Pointe of Huntington, Heritage Pointe of Fort Wayne, and Dogwood Glen Golf Course. Established in 1907 with a gift of money and 200 acres of farm land from William and Ruth Chopson, UMMH was founded on the philosophy of helping all people, regardless of race, creed, sex or religious preference, fully enjoy their retirement years, a philosophy of fostering friendship, belonging, security, and dignity, by respecting individual privacy and independence while offering professional and thoughtful guidance. The Chopsons requested the United Methodist Church use the gift to establish a retirement home. The first resident building with 37 rooms was completed in the Spring of 1910. UMMH is an Indiana not-for-profit Corporation affiliated with the United Methodist Church, a not-for-profit religious organization; specifically, The Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church. United Methodist Memorial Home and the United Methodist Memorial Home Foundation are managed and directed by a Board of Trustees.
